Forgotten medicine in your kitchen: apple cider vinegar against serious diseases

Apple cider vinegar, long known in folk medicine, is receiving more and more scientific confirmation of its effectiveness. Modern research demonstrates that this accessible product not only helps with high blood pressure but also possesses a whole complex of health-promoting properties: it reduces blood sugar concentration, decreases hunger, and contributes to weight loss. Scientists particularly note its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory characteristics, which beneficially affect the cardiovascular system.
A notable clinical study involving patients suffering from type 2 diabetes and hyperlipidemia (excessive fat content in the bloodstream) revealed significant results. Participants who regularly consumed about one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (20 ml) over eight weeks demonstrated substantially reduced fasting blood glucose levels and markers of oxidative stress. Interestingly, blood pressure indicators remained the same in both the experimental and control groups.
Even more impressive results were obtained during a 2016 study, which demonstrated vinegar's ability to effectively lower blood pressure in laboratory rats with hypertension. A particularly important discovery was the synergistic effect: the combination of vinegar with Procardia XL (a medication for treating arterial hypertension) provided better pressure control than using each of these remedies separately.
Additional scientific works have expanded the understanding of apple cider vinegar's benefits, confirming its effectiveness in controlling appetite, reducing cholesterol levels, and assisting in the fight against excess weight.
