President: In 2028, we expect the start of production within the new phase of Shah Deniz development

This year we expect the start of production at the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli deepwater gas field.

As reported by BAKU.WS, this was stated by President Ilham Aliyev, speaking at the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Advisory Council on the Southern Gas Corridor and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Advisory Council on Green Energy.

"In two to three years, we expect the start of full-scale development of the Absheron field, which will triple gas production at this field. In addition, we expect the start of gas production under the second phase of development of the Umid field," the head of state noted, adding that in 2028 we expect the start of production under a new phase of Shah Deniz development. And all these gas production profiles will allow us, at maximum production levels, to obtain an additional 10 to 15 billion cubic meters of gas.
