Apple revealed the secret of scratches on iPhone 17 Pro
Apple has commented on user complaints about scratches appearing on the body of the new iPhone devices, reports CNet.
Earlier, owners of iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max noted on social media that the smartphone bodies get damaged too easily. The company confirmed that signs of use can indeed appear on the aluminum surface; however, most of these scratches can be removed with a regular cloth. Thus, Apple rejected claims about excessive vulnerability of the body.
Company representatives emphasized that the aluminum in the new flagship models undergoes an anodization process: a protective oxide film forms on the surface. According to the company, this process "exceeds all industry standards."
At the same time, Apple acknowledged that some smartphones displayed in stores did indeed become covered with scratches. The cause was old MagSafe stands that could damage the anodized layer. The company assured that it would replace such stands so that the display models maintain a flawless appearance.
