A new feature has appeared in WhatsApp
The WhatsApp messenger has introduced an update that simplifies administration and interaction in group chats. Information about the launch of the new feature has been published on the platform's official resource.
As reported by BAKU.WS, now when adding a new participant to a group, administrators or other users can selectively send them a portion of recent messages. This helps to quickly get up to speed with current discussions and understand the context without having to review the entire archive.
The system allows forwarding up to one hundred recent messages. Thanks to this, there is no longer a need to take screenshots or manually copy individual fragments of the conversation. At the same time, the new participant gains access exclusively to those messages that were specifically selected for sending.
Other group users see a notification about the history transfer - indicating who exactly shared the correspondence and when it occurred. The sent messages have visual differences from standard messages, which makes the process more transparent.
The company emphasizes that, like personal chats, group conversations are protected by end-to-end encryption. This means that the content of messages remains confidential.
Administrators can disable this feature in the settings of a specific group if necessary, however they retain the ability to manually share needed messages.
The rollout of the new feature has already begun and will gradually become available to users on various devices.
