Messi not included in Argentina national team squad

Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi is not included in the final list of 37 players for the Argentina national team who will participate in the March qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup. The list was published on the official website of the national team.

It is reported that the 37-year-old footballer will miss the March World Cup qualification matches due to an adductor muscle injury.

Messi is a product of Barcelona's youth academy. He played for the main team from 2003 to 2021. During this period, he played 835 matches in which he scored 709 goals. Messi won the Champions League four times with Barcelona, won the 2022 World Cup with the Argentina national team, twice Messi won the Copa America, and the Argentine became an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner.
