Azerbaijani athlete won gold at the European Wrestling Championship

Azerbaijani wrestler Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) won a gold medal at the U-23 European Championship taking place in Tirana.

As Report informs, in the final she faced Italian Aurora Russo.

G.Gurbanova started the match more confidently than her opponent, who holds the title of European and World U-20 champion, scoring 4 points. As a result, the 17-year-old athlete became the winner of the U-23 European Championship, which was her debut.

In turn, Asmar Jankurtaran (50 kg) defeated Turkish wrestler Songul Kavak with a score of 9:3 and won a bronze medal.
