Azerbaijan entered the list of the safest countries in the world

The Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) has published the Global Terrorism Index 2025 report, which presents country rankings by level of terrorist threat.
As Report informs, the highest indicators of terrorist activity were recorded in Burkina Faso (8.581), Pakistan (8.374) and Syria (8.00), which topped the list.
The ranking also includes Israel (7.463) – 8th place, Russia (6.267) – 16th, Iran (6.056) – 18th, Turkey (3.968) – 32nd, USA (3.517) – 34th, France (2.712) – 40th, Denmark and Armenia (0.72) – 79th, Austria and South Korea (0.582) – 82nd.
Azerbaijan improved its position by one step, taking 90th place in the ranking (with 0.233 points), making it one of the safest countries in the world in terms of terrorist threat.
The Global Terrorism Index report is based on analysis of terrorist attacks, number of victims, destruction, effectiveness of counter-terrorism measures and other indicators. The data is used as a source for the UN, OECD, World Bank and other international organizations.
The growth of the security rating in Azerbaijan is due to effective state policy aimed at combating extremism and terrorism. Despite its complex geopolitical position, the country manages to maintain stability and a high level of internal security.
