Experts named the most dangerous cities in Europe

Security experts have compiled a ranking of the 20 most criminal cities in Europe for 2025. The assessment was based on a 100-point scale, where 0 means a complete absence of crime, and 100 represents the most dangerous criminal environment.
The leader of the anti-rating is Swedish Malmö with a score of 56.7 points. The city is notoriously known for pickpocketing, robberies, and drug-related crimes.
The capital of France scored just one point more. In Paris, tourists risk not only losing their property but also being subjected to physical violence or sexual harassment. Experts strongly recommend avoiding the areas around Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord stations at night, as well as the Pigalle and Château Rouge districts, known for their "red lights."
Belgian Liège took a high position in the ranking with 60 points. Harassment, drug trafficking, and car thefts flourish here. The situation is so serious that even local residents are advised not to leave valuables in cars and to avoid going out after dark.
Similar indicators were demonstrated by the French cities of Grenoble and Montpellier, as well as Italian Catania. These cities are plagued by theft, vandalism, drug trafficking, bag-snatching robberies, and burglaries.
Naples, which received 62.5 points, has earned the grim nickname "murder capital." Organized crime groups pose the main threat to security here.
British Birmingham, with 64 points, demonstrates a crime rate of 145 cases per 1000 residents. The most common are burglaries and sexual crimes. However, even Birmingham is surpassed by another British city - Coventry, notoriously known for rape, vandalism, hooliganism, theft, and robbery.
The absolute leader in crime rates in Europe is recognized as the French city of Marseille. The city suffers from car theft, violent robberies, and home invasions. Despite law enforcement efforts, local criminal groups continue to keep the city in fear, and the situation remains unchanged.
