As part of the "Our Yard" project, another improved courtyard has been handed over for residents' use

On July 17, with the participation of the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva, a landscaped courtyard covering multi-story buildings in the "AB" residential area of Yeni Guneshli in the Surakhani district of Baku was handed over for residents' use. A total of over 3,500 people live in these buildings.

As reported by AZERTAJ, in the newly reconstructed courtyard, as in other areas improved within the "Our Yard" project, the factor of convenient movement for people with disabilities was taken into account, favorable conditions were created for the development of children of all age groups, and to effectively organize leisure for young people and increase their interest in sports, the territory includes an artificial turf football field, a chess area, various sports facilities, and a children's playground. The courtyard also has gazebos, numerous benches, birdhouses, and cat houses. In addition, new lighting poles and surveillance cameras have been installed, building facades and blocks have been completely renovated, and asphalt, roofing, and power lines have been updated.

Along with restoring existing greenery in the courtyard, various types of trees, seasonal flowers, and shrubs were planted, and green areas were formed. To prevent air pollution around the courtyards, "green barriers" were created by planting stone ivy and other climbing plants.

The "Our Yard" project has been implemented since 2017 on the initiative of the founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva. The main goal of the project is environmental cleanliness and improvement of courtyards in the capital, restoration of green spaces, creation of opportunities for meaningful leisure, as well as safe and comfortable conditions for residents. To date, 159 residential courtyards have been landscaped under the "Our Yard" project and handed over for residents' use.
