Azerbaijani boxer Subkhan Mammadov became European champion

Azerbaijani boxer Subkhan Mammadov in the 50 kg weight category became the European champion in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.

This was reported by the Boxing Federation of Azerbaijan.

In the final, the World and European champion (U-23) defeated Russian Bair Batlayev 4:1 (30:27, 29:28, 28:29, 30:27, 29:28).

Earlier, Azerbaijani national team member Saidjasmhid Jafarov (75 kg) advanced to the final by defeating Callum Maykin (England) in the semifinal with a score of 4:1 (28:29, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 29:28). In the decisive bout, the Azerbaijani boxer will face Ismail Mutsolgov (Russia).

Amin Mammadzade (55 kg) won the bronze medal at the European Championship.

It should be noted that the day before, Muhammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) also won a bronze medal. On the last day of the tournament, September 25, alongside Jafarov, Nabi Iskenderov (70 kg) will also compete in the final bout.
