Who in Azerbaijan will be able to receive a salary without working for six months?

In Azerbaijan, they are preparing to adopt important amendments to the Labor Code that will radically change the status of medical workers. The changes have already been submitted to the Milli Mejlis and recommended for consideration at a plenary session after discussion in the second reading in the Committee on Labor and Social Policy.
According to BAKU.WS, the new amendments will soon be enshrined in legislation.
According to the proposed changes, medical workers who have not passed the first stage of certification exams will not be dismissed - their employment contracts will remain in force.
Member of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Milli Mejlis, deputy Vugar Bayramov, in a conversation with BAKU.WS, explained the essence of the innovations:
"The amendments will allow citizens who have not been able to successfully pass the first stage of certification exams to continue receiving salaries, although they will not actually be working. Their employment contracts will not be terminated. In practice, this means that for six months, citizens who have not passed the exam will receive their official salaries, even without working.
This will make it possible to preserve employment contracts for those who could not pass the first certification exam. Since their employment contracts will not be terminated, they will still be considered employees. Within six months, they will be given the opportunity to prepare for the second exam. To ensure their social protection during this period, they will retain their salary.
Thus, medical workers who have not passed the first certification exam will be able to continue receiving salaries. The period is six months, and the goal is to maintain the social protection of these citizens.
If they had been left without work after failing the first exam, they could have faced certain social difficulties. This is an important change in terms of social justice.
At the same time, this will create an incentive to prepare for the second exam within six months and pass it successfully. The goal, of course, is to strengthen the social protection of these citizens for a six-month period and ensure their success in the second certification exam. In this respect, the changes are positive and will definitely serve to protect the social rights of citizens."
