Pork found in some sausage products in Azerbaijan

During inspection of sausage products and hot dogs, pork DNA content was detected that was not indicated on product labels.
According to the Food Safety Agency, routine consumer market monitoring revealed the presence of pork DNA in "Ochag" hot dogs of "Best Beef" brand (production date 11.11.2024), which was not declared in the product composition.
During an unscheduled inspection of "Elite Food Company", additional product samples were taken: "Ochag" hot dogs weighing 450 grams (production date 07.01.2025) and "Doktorskaya" cooked sausage weighing 1.130 kg (production date 06.01.2025). Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of pork DNA in these products as well.
An administrative offense protocol has been drawn up against the entrepreneur. A decision was made to suspend production and ban the sale of the processed product batches.
