Employee of State Tourism Agency Apparatus Arrested in Azerbaijan

The identity of one of the State Tourism Agency (STA) employees involved in the investigation has been established.

As Report informs, on March 4, the State Security Service of Azerbaijan detained Nijat Huseynov, an employee of the STA apparatus, as a suspect.

The detainee is accused of abuse of power while performing official duties. By the decision of the Sabail District Court of Baku, a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.

As previously reported, by decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the chairman of the STA, Nagiyev Fuad Humbat oglu, was given a strict reprimand for deficiencies in his work.

Several officials of the agency, including the Head of the STA Apparatus Kanan Gasymov and the head of the agency's tourism policy and strategy department Muhammad Muradov, were removed from their positions.
