Prisoner in Brazil tried to escape from jail but got stuck in the wall

In Brazil, a prisoner tried to escape from prison and got stuck in a hole he made in the wall, Metro reports.
Leandro da Silva, an inmate from the Brazilian prison Rio Branco, made an unsuccessful escape attempt, getting stuck in a homemade tunnel that he had been digging for two days. Using only a broomstick handle and a nail, the man carefully drilled through the concrete wall, believing that the hole was large enough for his escape.
Guards noticed "suspicious movement" in the cell and came to check what was happening. They discovered the prisoner when his upper body was hanging down, and his torso was trapped in the narrow opening. Firefighters were called to rescue the convict. Rescuers carefully drilled the concrete around his body to free the man without injuries.
"We conducted thorough work and were able to successfully free him," the firefighters commented.
After the rescue, the man received first aid and was returned to his cell. Currently, authorities are investigating how he managed to obtain the tools for preparing his escape.
