Court case on fraud by the director of Moon Kids kindergarten: There were more teachers than children

The trial continued in the Baku Court of Serious Crimes, presided over by Judge Leyla Askerova-Mamedova, in the criminal case against Moon Kids kindergarten director Khavvakhanym Rustamova, accused of fraud.

As Oxu.Az reports, the testimonies of the victims were heard at the hearing.

One of the victims in the case, Zarifa Osmanova, drew attention with her interesting statements. "I was told that I needed to undergo a month-long internship. Initially, I didn't want to work for this reason. There were more teachers than children in the kindergarten. Then I agreed and went for an internship at the 'Neftchilar' branch. Then I worked for a week at the 'Gara Garayev' branch. I was told that the salary would be 400 manats for two months, and then it would be raised to 600. But I saw neither money nor an employment contract. So I quit," she said.

She also added that she was thrown out of the office when she demanded the money paid for employment. "My sister and I separately paid 4,000 manats each for job placement. We paid this money to continue working after the internship. But when we asked for this money back, Khavvakhanym threw us out of the office, saying 'get out.' I only got 3,000 manats back. I complained to the police. Now I'm demanding the remaining thousand manats," the woman said.

The accused Khavvakhanym Rustamova, in response to the victim's testimony, stated that Zarifa Osmanova has no experience working with autistic children and children suffering from other diseases who are in the kindergarten. Therefore, she was fired.

The next court hearing is scheduled for May 19.

It should be noted that the accused has partially compensated for the material damage caused to the victims. At the same time, reconciliation has been reached with several victims.

Recall that according to information disseminated by the General Prosecutor's Office, in the criminal case investigated by the Nizami District Prosecutor's Office in connection with violations committed at Moon Kids LLC, the director of the LLC, Khavvakhanym Imamat gyzy Rustamova, was charged under Articles 178.2.2, 178.2.3, 178.2.4 (fraud committed repeatedly and on a large scale using official position) and 308.1 (abuse of official powers) of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against her.

Subsequently, the preventive measure in the form of arrest was replaced with house arrest. The activities of the Moon Kids kindergarten have been suspended. The State Social Protection Fund has also been recognized as a victim in the case. The accused has compensated the victims 428 thousand manats.
