Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the development of bilateral relations with the Foreign Minister of Nigeria
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for the development of bilateral relations, issues of mutual interest, as well as cooperation on multilateral platforms.
In this context, the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, D-8, and other platforms was noted. The parties emphasized the need to strengthen mutual support and coordination.
Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the development of ties with African countries is one of the priority areas of Azerbaijan's foreign policy. In this regard, the importance of expanding cooperation with Nigeria in political, economic, humanitarian, and other spheres was emphasized, including opportunities provided to Nigerian citizens within the framework of Azerbaijan's scholarship programs.
The parties also exchanged views on other issues on the regional and international agenda.
