Counterfeit butter with dangerous additives discovered in Azerbaijan

As part of control measures conducted by employees of the Food Safety Agency, plant sterols (Campesterol, Stigmasterol, Beta-sitosterol), as well as food additives (Sorbic and Benzoic acids), the use of which is not permitted in this type of product according to regulatory documents, were found in samples of butter produced by individual Ali Telman ogly Jafarov.
As reported by BAKU.WS, this information was distributed by the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan.
In connection with the identified fact, the Agency has made a restrictive decision to withdraw the specified batches of products from circulation and recall them from retail chains, and necessary measures have been taken in accordance with legislation.
It should be noted that the detection of vegetable oils in a product whose packaging claims the use of pasteurized cream obtained from natural cow's milk is considered consumer deception and a violation of their rights by the manufacturer. Also, excessive consumption of products containing Sorbic (E200) and Benzoic (E210) acids can cause allergic reactions in people, and according to current regulatory documents, the use of these food additives is prohibited in some products.
