BAKU TV prepared a report about American journalist Thomas Goltz, who conveyed the truth about Karabakh to the world community.

The Vice-Rector of ADA University, Fariz Ismailzade, sharing his memories of him, noted that Thomas Goltz was one of the last to leave Kelbajar:

"Kelbajar was surrounded, and it became impossible to leave by car. People were boarding helicopters, seats were limited. There was a crush. Of course, he captured all this on film and placed a photo of this last helicopter taking off from Kelbajar on the cover of his book. He was one of the last to leave Kelbajar. Thomas Goltz was an honest man. He wrote what he thought. He conscientiously described the tragedy of Azerbaijan."

He became one of the few foreign witnesses to the Khojaly genocide. The events that occurred were published from his pen on the pages of "The Washington Post." About what he experienced and saw in Azerbaijan, and what the world did not want to hear, T. Goltz later wrote in his "Azerbaijan Diary."

The book was published in 1998. When Azerbaijan liberated its territories from occupation, he was already seriously ill and confined to a wheelchair. But the American journalist could not help but visit the liberated Karabakh. Thomas Goltz died two and a half months after his trip to the liberated Karabakh. The journalist bequeathed that his ashes be scattered in three different points of the world.

Azerbaijan took the first place in this list.
