A sentence has been handed down in Baku to a man who brutally murdered his stepmother

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to APA, the verdict was read at the session presided over by Judge Kamil Aliyev.
According to the court's decision, G. Mamedov was sentenced to 16 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
Recall that the incident occurred on November 28, 2024, in the Mashtaga settlement of the Sabunchi district of Baku. Despite the fact that the woman who became the victim of the crime was not G. Mamedov's biological mother, she had raised him as her own son since childhood.
It is noted that on that evening, the woman returned home with her husband. While her spouse was in the bathroom, G. Mamedov suddenly attacked his stepmother with a knife and struck her in the neck area, damaging the carotid artery. The woman died at the scene.
A criminal case was initiated by the Sabunchi district prosecutor's office under Article 120.1 (intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan regarding this incident.
