Why do BakıKart terminals refuse to accept coins? – Official response

In many areas of the capital, public transport passengers face a problem: BakıKart top-up terminals refuse to accept coins. The problem is especially relevant in busy parts of the city, including the "28 May" and "Azadlıq" metro stations, as well as in the Bayıl settlement and in the area known as "20th section". During rush hours, city residents are forced to search for working machines, losing time and risking being late for work or school.

According to passengers, terminals are often overflowing with coins and are not serviced in a timely manner.

In response to a request from Bizim.Media, BakıKart representatives stated that the issue is not with the coin containers being full, but with technical malfunctions.

"Our specialists check the machines several times a day. If a terminal does not accept money – most likely, the problem is with the mechanism, especially if deformed coins were used. But the version about overflow is excluded," – the company commented.

Nevertheless, despite promises to promptly fix the malfunctions, the terminal at the "28 May" station still does not accept coins. The problem remains unresolved, causing dissatisfaction among residents and undermining trust in the public transport system.
