A replacement has been appointed for the colonel arrested for bribery

A new head has been appointed to the representative office of the Executive Power (EP) head of Ismayilli district for the administrative-territorial district of Ismayilli city.

As Baku.ws reports with reference to modern.az, the corresponding decision was made by EP head Nahid Bagirov.

According to the document, Giyas Abdullayev will temporarily serve as the new representative of the EP head for the administrative-territorial district of Ismayilli city. Previously, G.Abdullayev held the position of chief advisor in the department of analysis and forecasting of socio-economic development of the Executive Power.

Recall that previously Alishir Suleymanov was the representative of the Executive Power head of Ismayilli district for Ismayilli city. From 1992 to 2016, Alishir Suleymanov served in various positions in the Azerbaijani army, including on the front line. He was discharged to the reserve in 2016 with the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Last year, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan conducted an operation in the EP. During investigative operations, reasonable suspicions arose that Alishir Suleymanov, using his official position, patronized construction work in non-residential areas of Ismayilli city, demanding and receiving bribes of various amounts from different persons.

Suleymanov was charged under Articles 311.3.2 and 311.3.3 (receiving bribes repeatedly; in large amounts) of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure in the form of arrest was chosen against him.
