Yalchin Rafiyev: Azerbaijan has created a significant legacy of COP29 and WUF13
Azerbaijan was able to form a significant legacy both within the framework of the global climate conference COP29 and the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
As Report informs, this was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev in a conversation with journalists during WUF13 in Baku.
According to him, Baku intends to continue working on preserving and developing this legacy.
He also touched upon the challenges that Azerbaijan faces in the liberated territories.
According to Rafiyev, peaceful conditions and financial resources are necessary to begin reconstruction work after conflicts and natural disasters.
"A particular difficulty that Azerbaijan faces in the liberated territories is the problem of mines. This requires significant financial expenditures. At the same time, considerable expertise is also needed. This is not a matter of responsibility solely for the country where reconstruction is underway. This is a humanitarian issue," the deputy minister emphasized.
He noted that the international community must jointly participate in the demining process.
"So that people do not face these problems, the international community must jointly help in clearing the territories of mines," Yalchin Rafiyev added.
