The statement on behalf of Azerbaijan was read at UNESCO

The 222nd session of the UNESCO Executive Board has started in Paris.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Report, during the plenary debates of the session, the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to UNESCO Elman Abdullayev read a statement on behalf of the country.
The statement provides information about Azerbaijan's active involvement during its four years of membership in the Executive Board, and also emphasizes that the country will continue to actively participate in UNESCO's work and contribute to the implementation of the organization's mandate.
It also speaks about the importance of international solidarity and multilateral cooperation in the year of the 80th anniversary of the adoption of the UN Charter and the UNESCO Constitution. In this regard, information is provided about the work done by Azerbaijan for peace, security and cooperation in the region, as well as steps taken to advance the peace process with Armenia. Special note was made of the historic meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan, the USA and Armenia in Washington on August 8, 2025, and the initialing of the text of the peace agreement.
In the context of Azerbaijan's cooperation with UNESCO, the statement notes the relevance of ongoing projects aimed at ensuring quality education, initiatives in the field of science and artificial intelligence, as well as issues such as promoting intercultural dialogue within the framework of the "Baku Process" and strengthening the role of women and youth in science. At the same time, it states the need for joint struggle within UNESCO against all forms and manifestations of racism.
It is emphasized that Azerbaijan, while maintaining commitment to UNESCO values, will resolutely continue its activities to strengthen international peace.
