The navies of Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on strategic cooperation

The naval forces of Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia and Kazakhstan have concluded a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening security and developing interaction in the Caspian Sea area.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to IRNA, the document was signed in St. Petersburg during a meeting of naval commanders of the Caspian states.
According to the agreement, the security of the Caspian Sea should be ensured exclusively by the coastal countries of the region. It emphasizes that no foreign state or non-regional power has the right to interfere in the internal affairs of the Caspian basin.
