Three Azerbaijani boxers advanced to the semifinals of the World Cup

The quarterfinal bouts of the Boxing World Cup have concluded in the Chinese city of Guiyang.

Two more athletes from the Azerbaijani national team have advanced to the semifinals of this ranking tournament.

Saidjamasheid Jafarov (75 kg) faced Muhammad Nurani (Iran) in his second bout in the ring. The Azerbaijani representative scored an early victory, knocking out his opponent in the second round. In the semifinals, he will face Gabriele Kvidi Rontani (Italy).

Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg) proved stronger than Marlon Sevejon (Australia) in the quarterfinals. The Azerbaijani boxer defeated his opponent with a score of 5:0 (29:28, 29:28, 29:28, 30:27, 30:27). In the semifinals, M. Allahverdiyev will face Javokhir Ummatalieyev (Uzbekistan).

Thus, the number of Azerbaijani boxers who have guaranteed themselves at least bronze medals has reached three. Earlier, Alfonso Dominguez (90 kg) also secured a spot in the semifinals.

It should be noted that the semifinal bouts will take place on June 20.
