Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied reports about the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

As local media report, this statement was made by the official spokesperson of the foreign affairs ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei.

He called publications by a number of media outlets about the cessation of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz unfounded.

According to Baghaei, Iran's Armed Forces, in accordance with a memorandum of understanding, have taken the necessary measures to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the strait.

"Navigation along this route continues," the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized.

As a reminder, the German newspaper Bild had earlier reported that Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and suspended negotiations with the United States following Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
