The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a statement regarding mine explosions in Jabrayil
Today, a father and son were severely injured as a result of mine explosions in the Jabrayil district. Thus, the number of mine victims in Azerbaijan since the end of the 2020 war has reached 443 people.
This was stated in a publication by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on the social network X.
"This terrible incident once again demonstrates the deadly danger of mines, which continue to claim the lives of innocent people and cause severe injuries, making no distinction between victims," the statement said.
It was noted that Azerbaijan strongly condemns the ongoing mine threat and calls on the international community to pay more attention to demining efforts in the country.
As a reminder, today in the Jabrayil district, Ashraf Elman oglu Gahramanov, born in 1966, went to the site where his son Orkhan Ashraf oglu Gahramanov had previously been hit by a mine. In that area, the man also stepped on an anti-personnel mine and was injured.
