The US will not strike Iran before the country's midterm elections.
This was stated by US President Donald Trump.
"The American military will not strike Iran before the US midterm elections on November 3," he noted.
He also stated that despite the pause in strikes on Iran, the American blockade of Iranian ports will remain in place.
"Although Iran is in a very bad position both economically and militarily, and although the blockade will remain fully in force, and oil is flowing through the Strait of Hormuz in record volumes <...>," Trump noted.
According to him, 22 million barrels of oil were transported through the Strait of Hormuz the previous night.
