President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the Festival of National Cuisine of the CIS Member States

On October 8, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Festival of National Dishes of CIS member countries, held in the city of Turkmenbashi.

As reported by Azertaj, the Festival of National Dishes of CIS countries is held within the framework of events organized by Turkmenistan in connection with the country's chairmanship of this organization in 2026. Eight countries are represented at the festival.

On the territory where the festival is held, a national pavilion of Azerbaijan has been set up, organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Tourism Agency. The pavilion consists of two parts. The culinary part presents the national cuisine of Azerbaijan and the rich gastronomic traditions of our country. Visitors are shown local plants, fruits, grains, dried fruits and other products characteristic of various regions of Azerbaijan, as well as the tea culture tradition of our country, included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

The second part of the pavilion presents the art of carpet weaving, kelaghayi, coppersmithing, woodcarving and ceramics. Here, the interior of a 19th-century Karabakh house has also been recreated based on the exposition of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.

In the pavilion, young khanende performers presented samples of Azerbaijani music, including mugham.

Today, an official reception was also held in the city of Turkmenbashi on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and a concert program was organized.

President Ilham Aliyev participated in the event.
