Putin: An acute situation has developed in the Middle East

As reported by Russian media, this was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian in Turkmenistan.
"Russia is ready to do everything to help Iran in resolving the situation that has developed in the Middle East," he noted.
Putin emphasized that Moscow sees real attempts by Tehran to end this regional conflict.
During the talks, the leaders discussed not only the situation in the Middle East but also the development of bilateral cooperation.
"As for bilateral relations, I want to note that they are developing in a positive manner, based on our fundamental treaty that was signed at the beginning of last year," the Russian leader noted.
According to him, Russian-Iranian trade turnover increased by 21% in 2025, and it continues to grow in 2026 as well.
