President Ilham Aliyev received the newly appointed Ambassador of Sweden to Azerbaijan

On September 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to our country, Louise Morsing.

As reported by AZERTAC, the ambassador presented her credentials to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev had a conversation with the ambassador.

Expressing hope for the continued successful development of bilateral relations in the coming years and the identification of new areas of cooperation, the head of state highlighted the importance of mutual visits and meetings at various levels in this regard, noting the existence of good opportunities for partnership in the fields of investment, trade, and business.

President Ilham Aliyev wished the ambassador success in her diplomatic activities.

Thanking the head of state for the reception, the ambassador emphasized that she would make every effort to further expand bilateral relations.

The ambassador congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the achievements in the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. She also welcomed the steps being taken to strengthen trust between the two countries.

The ambassador noted that a large number of Azerbaijani students study in Sweden, and their level of education is highly valued. The diplomat expressed hope that in the future, through their activities, they would contribute to the development of Azerbaijani-Swedish relations.

Louise Morsing also noted the positive dynamics in relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union and in this regard emphasized the resumption of negotiations on a bilateral agreement.

The ambassador highly appreciated the humanitarian aid provided by Azerbaijan to Ukraine.

Touching upon the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, President Ilham Aliyev said that it was Azerbaijan that is the initiator and author of the peace agenda. He assessed the peace achieved between the two countries as an unprecedented case on a global scale.

Noting that relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union are currently at a very good level, the head of state recalled the visits to our country this year by President of the Council of the European Union António Costa, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas, as well as the meetings he held with them within the framework of international events.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden, and issues of mutual interest were discussed.
