Ilham Aliyev received credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Egypt to Azerbaijan

On October 16, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to our country, Houssam-Eldine Reda.

As reported by BAKU.WS, the ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev first congratulated the Arab Republic of Egypt on the high level of organization of the Middle East Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh. Highly appreciating the invitation of Azerbaijan to this event by US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the head of state called this an example of trust and friendship between our countries.

Recalling with satisfaction the visit of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Azerbaijan and his official visit to Egypt, President Ilham Aliyev touched upon issues related to the implementation of the tasks discussed during these visits.

The ambassador conveyed greetings from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to the head of our state.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as well.

During the meeting, the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission was mentioned, and it was noted that its next meeting would be held soon. It was emphasized that direct air connection between Baku and the cities of Sharm el-Sheikh and Cairo gives a serious impetus to cooperation in the field of tourism.

During the conversation, the prospects for bilateral cooperation in cultural and humanitarian areas were discussed.
