Ilham Aliyev: Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands did not allow the South Caucasus to develop

Unfortunately, the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands did not allow the South Caucasus to develop as a more or less integrated region. We had all the chances for this.
As reported by AZERTAG, this was stated by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the international forum "Towards a New World Order" held at ADA University.
"However, aggression, destruction and the suffering of the Azerbaijani people did not allow this to happen. The South Caucasus was not integrated, although from an economic point of view, from the perspective of transport routes and, of course, energy security, this could have happened. Relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are a clear example of all those segments I just mentioned - energy security, transport, political dialogue, investments, economic benefits. Armenia has actually deprived itself of all this. In fact, as a result of occupation and aggression, it deprived itself of the opportunity to become an important transit country for Azerbaijani energy resources and transport routes," noted the head of state.
