Jean-Claude Van Damme addressed Vladimir Putin

American actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, who became famous thanks to cult action movies of the 80s and 90s, made an unexpected address to Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Hollywood star expressed his desire to visit the Russian Federation and become an ambassador of peace.
As reported by lenta.ru, the famous actor's video address was published by journalist Diana Panchenko on her Telegram channel.
"We want to come to Russia. We will try to do it as you see it, to become ambassadors of peace. It would be an honor for me to have such a title... Let's talk. No politics, just peace, sports and happiness!" - the legendary actor stated.
In his address, Van Damme warmly recalled meeting the Russian leader in 2010 in Sochi, where he arrived for the Open European Championship for no-rules fighting. The actor shared an amusing episode: during a walk with Putin, he accidentally touched the president's shoe with his boot. In response, the Russian leader did the same thing, after which they repeated this action several times.
"And you said: 'Stop!' I asked: 'What happened, Mr. Putin?', and you said that in Russia this is a bad omen," Van Damme recalls with a smile.
