During the negotiations with State Secretary Alexandre Fasel, the positive impetus given to bilateral relations by recent mutual high-level visits, as well as the intergovernmental economic commission session held last month in Bern, was noted. The sides exchanged views on expanding ties in the fields of industry, green energy, digital technologies, innovations, agriculture, and tourism, as well as further encouraging the activities of Swiss companies in Azerbaijan, including their more active participation in reconstruction and rehabilitation projects being implemented in the territories liberated from occupation. The possibilities of holding events in 2027 dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, as well as the continuation of political dialogue at the highest level, were considered.

Elchin Amirbayov informed the Swiss side about the current state of affairs in the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization process and the practical results achieved. It was emphasized that strengthening mutual trust, further development of economic and trade ties, as well as contacts between civil societies, play an important role in ensuring that the benefits of peace are tangible for the populations of both countries. Azerbaijan's position was conveyed to the Swiss side regarding the steps that the Azerbaijani side considers necessary to ensure sustainable peace and the signing of a peace agreement. It was noted that eliminating the existing legal discrepancy between the provisions of the peace agreement and the current Constitution of Armenia is a necessary and inevitable condition for ensuring the irreversibility of the peace process and the sustainability of the currently existing de facto peace.

In the context of regional connectivity, the development of the Middle Corridor was discussed, as well as the potential contribution to expanding regional cooperation and strengthening peace through the implementation of the Zangezur corridor, which would restore transport communication between the main part of Azerbaijan's territory and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the TRIPP project, which is an integral part of it.

During the meeting with Switzerland's National Security Advisor Gabriel Lüchinger, an exchange of views took place on the prospects for peaceful settlement of ongoing armed conflicts in the Eurasian region. The sides discussed the expansion of contacts between Azerbaijan and Switzerland in the field of security, including on issues of cybersecurity, hybrid threats, and other issues of mutual interest.

During discussions with the Head of the Parliamentary Secretariat for International Relations Claudio Fischer, Elchin Amirbayov particularly emphasized the importance of intensifying inter-parliamentary contacts and organizing mutual visits for the development of bilateral ties.

Within the framework of the visit, information was provided about the humanitarian threat posed by mines and unexploded ordnance on the territory of Azerbaijan to the peaceful civilian population, their negative impact on the safe return of former internally displaced persons and the conduct of reconstruction work. The Swiss side expressed readiness to consider possibilities of providing support in the field of humanitarian demining, including through the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining, including possible projects.
