SGB warned about new cyberattacks using artificial intelligence
Organized cybercriminal networks operating outside Azerbaijan are using artificial intelligence technologies to carry out new and enhanced cyberattacks.
As reported by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan (SSS), the groups employ artificial intelligence algorithms and specialized software, targeting government officials, employees of various enterprises and organizations, as well as ordinary citizens.
The SSS noted that despite numerous warnings and awareness-raising activities, in some cases citizens still believe the fraudsters and fall victim to them.
Cybercriminals operate according to specially developed scenarios. They send selected victims messages of an allegedly "urgent" and "important" nature, after which they direct them to fake accounts posing as pages of law enforcement agencies or other official bodies.
In this way, the criminals lead citizens to transfer money to foreign accounts, as well as to carry out various illegal tasks.
The SSS emphasized the need to exercise extreme caution and vigilance in the digital environment.
"When encountering a suspicious appeal, demand, or message, citizens must immediately notify law enforcement agencies," the statement said.
