A staff meeting was held under the leadership of Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov

On April 5, a service meeting was held under the leadership of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
This was reported by the Media and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
The meeting, held via video conference, was attended by deputy ministers, commanders of military branches (forces), heads of main directorates, departments and services, commanders of military units and formations, as well as leaders of the National Defense University and its subordinate special military educational institutions.
First, a moment of silence was observed to honor the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives for the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.
Noting that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called army building in our country one of the priority issues, the Defense Minister conveyed to the meeting participants the tasks set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief for the army regarding the improvement of service and combat activities and increasing the combat capability of units.
The Defense Minister recalled the words of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief that the historical victory opened the way to peace negotiations, and noted his high appreciation of the professionalism shown by the Azerbaijani army, especially during the 44-day Patriotic War and in subsequent combat operations, which placed more responsible tasks before the Azerbaijani army.
The meeting broadly discussed the current operational situation on the conditional Azerbaijani-Armenian border, including regular shelling of our units by the enemy in recent days and attempts to conduct reconnaissance flights over the positions of the Azerbaijani army using unmanned aerial vehicles and drones. The Minister assigned specific tasks to the relevant officials regarding the readiness of Azerbaijani army units to respond promptly to any provocations and emphasized the importance of increasing vigilance when organizing combat duty.
Then, the positive results of successful reforms carried out in the Azerbaijani army were reported, and implemented and planned activities for the current year were discussed.
Emphasizing the importance of expanding the combat capabilities and abilities of the troops, the Minister instructed to maintain the intensity of military exercises conducted with consideration of modern combat experience, and to constantly improve their quality through the introduction of technological innovations. Instructions were given regarding activities carried out in the direction of ensuring cybersecurity of modern information technology tools.
The importance of paying special attention to staffing units with professional personnel was noted, taking into account new forms and methods used in the military education system to ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and citizen satisfaction.
The Minister tasked officials with improving the knowledge and skills of military personnel of various specialties involved in training camps, and teaching them the rules for using weapons and equipment that have been adopted into service.
The command staff was again informed of requirements to improve the social and living conditions and moral-psychological preparation of personnel, material and technical support for units stationed in areas with difficult terrain, organization of quality nutrition, and strengthening control over strict compliance with safety rules.
Appropriate instructions were given to study the personal and psychological characteristics of new recruits called up for compulsory military service, to be sensitive to their adaptation process, and to pay attention to their health condition.
The importance of regularly conducting educational activities with military personnel and regulating their activities in accordance with the requirements of military regulations was emphasized.
Appropriate instructions were given to provide troops with all types of reserves according to the season and to prepare for the transition of weapons and equipment to the spring-summer operation mode.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of continuing engineering activities carried out in the liberated territories while observing safety rules.
In conclusion, Colonel General Z. Hasanov expressed confidence that the Azerbaijani army, which has always justified the trust of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, will continue to justify this trust in the future.
