Baku is experiencing the largest phase of urban environment renewal in recent decades. The capital continues to implement the General Development Plan through 2040: dilapidated buildings are giving way to modern residential quarters, new roads, green spaces, and transport infrastructure, writes the newspaper "Caspian".

Large-scale urban renewal always strikes a nerve, as it involves relocation and compensation payments. At the meeting, it was openly discussed that many residents of old neighborhoods face difficulties simply due to incomplete documentation on hand or a basic lack of awareness of their rights. For this reason, the commission takes on the legal support of citizens and promises to help resolve disputed situations.
