Putin: Kyiv doesn't need peace

Kyiv's refusal of a short-term humanitarian ceasefire convinces that Ukraine does not want peace.

As Interfax reports, President Vladimir Putin stated this during a meeting with government members.

"Regarding the latest refusal of a 2-3 day ceasefire for humanitarian reasons, this is not happening for the first time. It doesn't surprise us, but only convinces us that the current Kyiv regime doesn't need peace at all," he said.

"Peace for them most likely means loss of power. And power for this regime, apparently, is more important than peace and the lives of people whom they apparently don't consider their own," he noted.
