President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that gives the head of state the right to send units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to other countries during martial law.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to TASS, the corresponding information is posted on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

The document was approved by the Ukrainian parliament on February 25. According to the law, under martial law, AFU units can be located outside Ukraine to perform tasks related to national security, defense, deterrence of armed aggression, as well as protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.

The decision to send Ukrainian military abroad is made by the president. At the same time, a bill is submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for approval of such a decision. It specifies the tasks, the number of military personnel, the type and composition of weapons and equipment, subordination, as well as the duration of the units' stay abroad.
