In Italy, two ghost children were found who lived in complete isolation from society.

As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to Mirror, a brother and sister aged six and nine had almost no contact with the outside world, spoke their own "primitive" language, and were not even registered in schools or with doctors. Police discovered them on a farm near Turin during an inspection due to flood threats - the children looked unkempt and were wearing diapers. The juvenile court ordered their removal from the family.

Their 54-year-old father named Federico stated that he sees the children twice a week and has been deprived of custody rights, but is doing everything possible to regain custody. The man, who identified himself as a Dutch sculptor, claims that he bought the farm three years ago for €120,000. According to him, the children received home education, were taught English and Italian via the Internet, and he explained the lack of registration in Italy by his wife's illness and lack of time.

The children's mother, a 38-year-old woman of Moroccan origin, according to authorities, was either absent or did not pay attention to them. The family moved frequently, fearing the pandemic, and settled on the farm only three months before the flood. Authorities believe that the father deliberately isolated the children from society.
