White House: Putin and Zelensky are not ready to end the conflict
The United States believes that the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, are not ready to end the conflict between the countries.
As Report informs, this was stated by White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt at a briefing for journalists.
"Putin and Zelensky are not ready to independently end this war. Trump will make additional statements on this matter later," she said.
According to her, US President Donald Trump was "neither pleased" with the strikes on Kyiv, nor surprised by them, the head of state continues to monitor the situation.
The White House issued a statement simultaneously with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The latter said that the meeting between Putin and Zelensky, which Trump announced was being prepared after the summit with the Russian leader in Alaska, will not take place.
