US Vice President JD Vance announced that significant progress had been achieved in negotiations with Iran in Switzerland, BAKU.WS reports citing TASS.

"Over the last several hours, we've already made a lot of progress. I expect that we will [in the near future] make additional progress," he told reporters.

Additionally, the Washington administration believes that there have been positive developments in recent days regarding the enforcement of the ceasefire in Lebanon.

"Over the last couple of days, we've seen great progress in terms of maintaining the ceasefire regime in Lebanon. I am very pleased with how things are going for us regarding Lebanon. There is additional work ahead, but we will continue to carry it out," he added.

The American vice president stated that the US-Iran negotiations in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, would not resolve all disagreements, but would give the participants an opportunity to address the most important issues for each side.

"Today marked the beginning of technical negotiations that will not resolve all disagreements, but will allow us for the first time in history to sit down together as teams and figure out what matters most to the parties, settle these issues, resolve these issues, and work toward a better future," he said.
