Trump named possible successors for the 2028 election
The Republican Party has a "good bench" of successors capable of running in the 2028 presidential election and continuing Donald Trump's legacy.
As BAKU.WS reports, he himself stated this in an interview with NewsNation channel.
"We certainly have a good bench [of candidates]. We have very talented people," he said.
Trump noted that he has favorites, but it's too early to reveal their names now, as the situation may change. He nevertheless highlighted Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, whom he called magnificent.
Earlier, Trump suggested that Vance would "most likely" become the Republican Party candidate in future elections. "Obviously, it's still too early to talk about this, but he's doing a great job and is probably the favorite at the moment," Trump noted then. He also suggested that Rubio "might possibly act together with JD Vance in some form."
Trump was first elected president in 2016. In 2020, he lost the election to Joe Biden, but won again in 2024. The 22nd Amendment of the United States prohibits one person from holding the office of president for more than two terms. He ruled out running for vice president in 2028 last October.
