The US national debt has reached a record level.

The national debt of the United States has increased by more than two trillion dollars for the fourth consecutive year. In the 2025 fiscal year, it reached a record high of 37.6 trillion dollars.
As reported by BAKU.WS with reference to RIA Novosti, this is according to data from the US Department of the Treasury.
According to the information, the fiscal year in the country runs from October 1 to September 30. During the past period, the debt increased from $35.46 trillion to $37.64 trillion, which became a new historical maximum.
It is noted that the most dramatic increase in government debt was recorded in 2020 - then the figure increased by $4.2 trillion due to large-scale measures to support the economy during the coronavirus pandemic.
In 2021, the increase was $1.5 trillion. In 2022, amid the Federal Reserve's key rate hike, the debt increased by $2.5 trillion. In the following two years, the growth amounted to $2.2 and $2.3 trillion, respectively.
