It is claimed that the goal of the operation is to force Iran to change its position in negotiations. According to the outlet, the meeting was attended by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine, and the U.S. leader's special envoy Steve Witkoff. In addition, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth joined them via video link from the U.S. Southern Command headquarters in Florida.
