Reuters: Sugar price collapses to multi-year low
World 23

Sugar prices collapsed to multi-year lows - 14.47 cents per pound (≈ 0.45 kg) amid stable production and price pressure due to the success of weight loss medications.

BAKU.WS reports this with reference to Reuters.

According to the information, the decline in quotations was partly prompted by a forecast from the reputable Brazilian consulting company Datagro, which last week estimated the global sugar surplus at 1.98 million tons in 2025/26, although earlier it had expected a deficit of five million tons.

By the time this article was published, the decline had accelerated to 14.43 cents per pound, representing a decrease of 3.61 percent.
