Negotiations between the USA and Iran may take place in Islamabad in the near future.

This was announced by Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar following consultations with the foreign ministers of Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.

"Pakistan is pleased that both Iran and the United States have expressed confidence in our country in facilitating the negotiations. Pakistan will be honored to host and facilitate substantive negotiations between the two sides in the coming days to achieve a comprehensive and lasting settlement of the ongoing conflict," he said.

Dar recounted how he held a telephone conversation with China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

"China fully supports Pakistan's initiative to hold American-Iranian negotiations," the Pakistani minister shared.

A similar conversation took place with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, who also expressed full support for the Pakistani peace initiative, Dar added.

"I also held several telephone conversations with my counterparts from various countries around the world, and all of them expressed full confidence and support for our efforts," the minister summarized.

At the ministerial meeting in Pakistan, the politicians discussed issues of de-escalation of the war in the Middle East, as well as a number of other regional issues. Pakistan is a key mediator in diplomatic efforts.

Pakistan's readiness to host negotiations between the USA and Iran on settling the Middle East conflict was previously announced by Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Ynet reported on Iran's agreement to direct negotiations with the USA.
