Azerbaijan national team secured a resounding victory in FIFA Series - 2026

The Azerbaijan national football team played their first match in the FIFA Series - 2026 international tournament.

The team, led by head coach Aykhan Abbasov, faced the Saint Lucia national team.

The match, held at the Mehdi Huseynzade Sumgayit City Stadium, ended with a convincing 6:1 victory for the Azerbaijan national team.

Goals for the national team were scored by Emin Makhmudov (2), Ragim Sadykhov (21), Musa Gurbanly (37), Toral Bayramov (64), Vusal Iskenderli (87), and Rustam Akhmedzade (89).

For the visitors, the sole goal was scored from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute by Philip Donavan.

It should be noted that on March 30, the Azerbaijan national team will face Sierra Leone at the same venue.
