NASA comments on rumors about a deadly cataclysm in August 2026
NASA has refuted rumors about the alleged upcoming disappearance of gravity on Earth, which are being actively spread on social media and in several foreign publications.
As BAKU.WS reports with reference to the New York Post, according to the conspiracy theory, on August 12, 2026, Earth will allegedly be completely deprived of gravity for seven seconds, which, according to the authors of the rumors, will lead to the death of tens of millions of people. As "proof," they cite a supposedly declassified document about a project called "Anchor" with a budget of 89 million dollars, under which preparations for the catastrophe are allegedly being made.
NASA called such claims speculation and emphasized that they have nothing to do with reality.
"Earth will not lose gravity on August 12, 2026," said a representative of the space agency in an official comment.
He also explained that gravity directly depends on the planet's mass. For Earth to "lose" gravity, it would have to lose a significant part of its mass, which is not expected in the foreseeable future.
